Behold the Lamb

We were able to be part of the 17th annual Hamilton County Passion Play, Behold the Lamb, presented by our church, Harbor Shores Church. We performed 7 times in 5 days at Noblesville High School, with over 1000 in attendance at each show. Around 98% of our church body participates in the play, thats about 600 people! Behold the Lamb is a choir/drama presentation that shows the events of the passion week and presents the gospel clearly. We saw over 200 people respond to the gospel message this week, and our church has already begun follow up with them. Praise the Lord for this awesome opportunity!

Here's a link to some pictures, cause it is too hard to do on Xanga, I think. Maybe it isnt, but its 2am, and I am tired. :) Besides, if you havent checked out facebook, you should.

Uncle Dave...

On Saturday, my uncle Dave, my dad's only brother, was killed in a National Park in southern CA. He was 52 years old, but he was in better shape than most 22 year olds I know! He grew up as a missionary kid in South America, went to BBC in PA, was a missionary in Chile, was a big-wig with USAir in VA, and most recently was the director of WC operations for Fed-Ex in CA. He and his wife never had any children, but were one of those couples that were best friends and had a blast together. He was the funny guy of the family, and was the one that made sure he got on the mic at mine and my brother's weddings to talk about sex, just for the shock value of it all.

Pray with me for peace and comfort for my aunt... they are still not totally sure what happened, but it appears he fell while hiking. Pray with me that there was no foul-play involved, and that he died doing what he loved. Pray with me that the people who attend his funeral would hear a clear, consise gospel message, and could leave there as sure of their own eternity as my uncle was. He was one of the most fun-loving people I have ever known, and he will be missed greatly!

I don't usually do these things, but one of my closest friends in the world did it and it was cute, so here is one of these silly survey things. :)

1. I've come to realize that my last kiss...
was a little gross, because it was from Connor, and he had just kissed the dog, who we just realized puked on the floor....

2. I am listening to...
my kids splashing in the bath, I guess I should go take care of that

3. I talk...
I plead the 5th on this one.

4. I love...
my husband... so much... and my kids, and my ministry... and spending too much time on my computer.

5. My friends...
are going to be VERY cool to hang out with in heaven, because I dont get enough time with them here!

6. My best friend...
is my husband, only he might not always think so, cause I'm not always nice.

7. Life is...
short, make the most of it!

8. I hate it when people ask..
How are your parents... yeah thats my least favorite. A close second? How do you stay so little when you are pregnant? Are you REALLY 7 months? LIKE I CAN HELP IT PEOPLE! WHAT IN THE STINKIN WORLD!

9. Love is....
Jesus Christ. Purely sacrificial and unselfish.

10. Marriage is...
Comfortable and wonderful. And really, really hard work, but worth every effort.

12. I'll always...
have red hair. If it starts to change, I'm going to do something about it. When I am 92, it will still be red.

13. I have a secret crush...
Why are these questions always part of these things?

14. The last time I cried was because...
hehehe...I am pregnant. So I really dont know, cause it happens a lot. But I think it was Sunday night during a testimony...a really WOW testimony... at church. Salvation is such a miracle!

15. My Sibling is...
letting me live in his house right now which I hope he knows how much I appreciate!

16. When I wake up in the morning...
I want to die. Or go back to sleep... I guess death is a bit of an overreeaction.

17. Before I go to bed....
I fill 2 sippy cups of chocolate milk to make my life easier in the morning and then I do my quiet time, drink a cup of chocolate milk and eat something incredibly unhealthy like girl scout cookies, brush my teeth, brush my hair, change my pjs cause the first ones werent comfortable, rearrange my pillows, whine about heartburn and backpain, and then maybe go to sleep if I didnt forget anything. My husband says my bedtime routine is the most Greenslade-ish thing about me... just quite complicated.

18. Right now I am thinking about....
how much water is on the bathroom floor, because I still havent gotten up.

19. Babies are...
fast growers. And sweet and smell good and wonderful and precious... and scripture says that they are sinners from the womb! Wow! Even the most beautiful of us. :) I am so excited for a new baby...

20. I get online...
too often and for too long

21. Today I.....
am tired and I have WOL work to do and errands to run ... and its 10:15 already.

22. Tonight I will...

sleep

23. Tomorrow I will be....
working...at home...I love my job!

24. I'd like to be....
in Texas

OK so I got the same email from about 10 people, and then heard that the conservative NEWS station here in Indy said that this was true... Let's not beleive everything we read in e-mails, right? I think especially if we represent Christ, we have a responsibility not to be ignorant or join bandwagons just to make a person or organization look bad. I am not about defending outspokenly liberal companies, just about being real. So heres the deal... I checked this out and the links included, I think if you are one of the new Starbucks-boycotters, you  might think of doing the same thing. When you are done, go get yourself a venti latte and enjoy it!!! So here it is...

Rumor Response: Misinformation About Starbucks and the United States Military

You may have heard a rumor concerning Starbucks lack of military personnel support. This is not true. In 2004, we replied to an e-mail circulating on the internet that contained misinformation about the Company. Starbucks contacted its author, a Marine Sergeant, who subsequently sent an e-mail to his original distribution list correcting his mistake, the text of which is:

"Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends.  I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all.  I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have.  This is not true.  Starbucks supports men and women in uniform.  They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue.  So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.

Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to.

Thank you very much for understanding about this.

Starbucks, our customers, and our partners (employees) respect the efforts of the U.S. men and women who serve their country in the military. Starbucks and its partners (employees) have consistently demonstrated their support of military personnel in a number of ways.

A few examples of their generosity include:

Each week Starbucks partners (employees) receive one free pound of coffee. On an individual, grass roots level, many partners (employees) in the U. S. have collected their free coffee and shipped thousands of pounds of Starbucks coffee overseas.

Partners in our Atascadero, California store sent their personal weekly allotment of coffee to troops in Afghanistan so they would be able to enjoy a little taste of home.

Our customer relations department in Seattle donated hundreds of pounds of coffee to the sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier.

On Sept. 21, 2006, Starbucks was honored with the Freedom Award during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The Freedom Award, the highest award bestowed by the Department of Defense in recognition of an employer, was created in 1996 by President Bill Clinton and Secretary of Defense William Perry to publicly recognize American employers who provide exceptional support to their employees who voluntarily serve the nation in the National Guard and Reserve.

Starbucks employs approximately 90 U.S. partners (employees) who serve in the military and are currently on active duty. In support of their efforts, Starbucks provides a supplement to make up the difference between their military pay and their pay level at Starbucks before they went on leave. The partner (employee) can continue health coverage, and family health coverage, if enrolled, for up to 18 months. Partners (employees) are guaranteed a position upon return from active duty, except in rare circumstances, as permitted under the Federal Military Leave Laws; additionally, tenure at Starbucks is also kept while on active duty

To enhance our U.S. partners' (employees) efforts in support of U.S. military troops, Starbucks is honored to extend our relationship with the American Red Cross in order to provide more coffee to relief efforts during times of conflict. On multiple occasions, Starbucks has donated a total of more than 100,000 lbs of coffee to the American Red Cross for distribution to those troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.
